There’s no room to hide the fact that cannabis strains just hit differently from time to time. The reasons behind the various effects they carry, however, are vastly different as well.
What I’m trying to say here is that we can’t specifically say that one cannabis strain will have certain effects because of a single feature. Likewise, we can’t even say that that specific cannabis bud will have the same effects every single time. I guess this is just something that we have to cope with, and if I’m being honest, it’s part of what makes it fun.
This is why some people prefer this or that strain from this or that brand. Replicating the same bud, with the same chemical properties every single time is extremely difficult.
By purchasing specific brands you’ll reduce the risk of experiencing undesired effects from your freshly rolled joint. You’ll also find that the effects are much more likely to resemble those experienced the last time you purchased a product from that brand.
This is due to the fact that most brands source their flower buds from the same farm, whether it’s their own operation, or a supplier’s farm is neither here nor there.
But let’s get to the point:
If you don’t have a preferred brand to purchase your buds from, there are other aspects to divide your preferences by. The most common one being the type of strain; Sativa, Indica, or Hybrid.
Although not entirely precise, it’s definitely the most common way to do it. I know I do it that way and it’s worked so far. The issue then becomes knowing what goal you’re working towards by consuming that particular strain.
Sativa strains are popular among people looking for an energy boost or an increase in focus when the fuel reservoir just seems to be running low.
High THC strains are a go-to for many with a strong tolerance for the substance. However, high THC content can go either way. If your tolerance level is not there, a high THC content can make you feel drowsy, sleepy, and foggy-headed. Which are not effects that are highly desirable if you’re looking to get sh*t done.
Some high-THC strains can provide feelings of extreme euphoria and an uplifting mood boost. You’ll just have to know how to pick them. Good thing we’re here to help.
Below are reviews of some of the best sativa strains for energy.
Yep, you read it correctly; a Sativa-dominant CBG strain. A rare product that’s incredibly difficult to find anywhere else but on the Herb and Botany Farms websites.
We’ve partnered with the masters of non-psychoactive flower buds to bring you a calming, clarity-keeping sativa bud with a 13.5% CBG and a less than 0.3% THC content. Although not notably popular yet, CBG is taking strong strides forward in the cannabis industry.
CBG is said to provide very similar effects as those of CBD but has not yet been linked to the drowsy consequences that CBD has been recorded to have at high dosages.
This beautifully harvested Sativa flower bud has been grown in a state of the art facility that ensures replicability of the effects every single time. A limited-edition handcrafted bud that has been designed to provide a boat of calm energy and focus to get you through the day.
Durban Poison is a mid-level potency THC strain that’s known for providing a highly energetic buzz. This pure Sativa is one that I generally use when going hiking because it gives my legs that extra motivation to take ‘just one more step’ up a challenging trail.
Not only that, but Durban Poison has also helped encourage me to have a better attitude when things seem to take a turn for the worst. Or what I believe to be the worst, which being an anxious person myself, is not really much but it sure feels like it. So, if you’re feeling down and need a little pick-me-up, Claybourne Co. Durban Poison’s your guy.
If you’re not really into the outdoors, no worries, Durban Poison gets the job done at the office as well. The home office at least, where you set the rules and you can light up like it’s an episode of Mad Men.
Here’s a strain for the CBD fans out there. With a moderate dose of CBD, usually below 15%, Pineapple Haze is a strain you can smoke at any time of the day. Not only does it act as an energy booster, but it’s also a mouthwatering smoking option that boosts sweet pineapple, tropical fruit, and coconut milk aromas.
This is a strain you can pair with your morning cup of coffee to start the day with an extra boost of calm energy. It’s also an ideal afternoon smoke for those moments when you feel tired or sleepy and need an extra power.
By far, the best Pineapple Haze flower out there is Botany Farms’. With densely trichome covered buds and a robust terpene profile, this sativa is the ideal smoke for those moments when you need that extra pick me up during the day.
I guess we shouldn’t be surprised that a strain bearing the name of a ‘clown’ makes it onto the list, At least I can’t think of someone with more energy than a Harlequin.
But I’ll admit that the name can be a bit misleading. Harlequin does not provide the same ‘in your face’ sort of energy that Durban Poison does. Harlequin has also been known to provide relaxing, yet happy, and uplifting effects.
The clear-headed attributes of the ‘harlequin-high’ make it a great option for a morning or early afternoon strain that will help you get over the hill with a smile on your face. But, the ‘harlequin-high’ is not really a high at all, is it?
Actually, Pure Beauty Harlequin is a CBD strain with up to 8% CBD, which also makes it a great option for those trying to steer clear of intoxicating buds. A deliciously fruity-flavored smoke that works great for anxiety control.
I might be wrong here, but Haze strains tend to make me, well, feel hazy. I feel like when I smoke them I don’t just get high, but I also go a bit numb.
I only mention this because it has been my personal experience, but many members of the Herb family seem to have had different experiences themselves. So, it’ll up to you to decide.
What I can say is:
Amnesia Haze is a spicy citrus smelling flower bud that provides a creatively energetic buzz. Although I can’t remember much of what I did after I step off this high train, my journal always seems to be 3 or 4 pages short afterward.
If you’re looking for the right way to try Amnesia Haze, I certainly suggest going with a reliable brand that can harvest a proper haze strain. Virginia Co. Amnesia Haze is what you’re looking for.
I’ll come clean immediately, Agent Orange isn’t truly a pure Sativa strain, it’s a hybrid. But it’s a Sativa-dominant hybrid that powers you up with a highly energetic and uplifting buzz that makes enough noise to hop on this list.
With a medium potency THC content of 15%, Agent Orange combines its Indica and Sativa origins to grant you the gift of a perfectly balanced body and mind high. A strong head buzz that energizes you but still could prove difficult to handle if you need to be focused and number-attentive.
If you’re looking for something with a bit more kick, then Claybourne Co. Agent Orange is worth taking a look at. A powerful version of the strain that’s great for creative pursuits and positive vibes.
Finding the right type of strain is easy, at the end of the day, you only have three options to choose from; sativa, indica, or hybrid. But once you decide which one you’re going with the question still stands, which one out of the thousands of strains available is best for what you’re choosing.
