The Best Wax Dabs On The Market This Winter

Wax Dabs: Great taste, quick effects, and guaranteed potency.

The world of dabbing can seem quite intimidating.

There’s different equipment to understand and various concentrates you can use. Before we get into all that, let’s understand what dabbing is.

Dabbing is a way of smoking cannabis concentrates or extracts using a dab rig or other device. The wax concentrate is placed in a dab rig or dab insert in vaping devices.

Inside the dab chamber, the concentrate is heated to a temperature between 400 and 600 degrees to produce inhalable smoke. We’ll give you the full rundown below.

What Are Wax Dabs?

Wax dabs are a concentrated preparation of cannabis oil. Wax is made through solvent extraction using butane.

While some cannabis extracts have a honey or glass-like consistency, wax has an almost clay-like texture. Opaque and easy to handle, a high-quality wax is smooth and has an amber coloration.

Wax is also one of the most potent cannabis extracts, as its THC content ranges from 60-80%. And if that wasn’t enough, the flavors of cannabis and the particular terpenes can be appreciated quite well.

The wax is especially suitable for dabbing due to its texture and concentration.

Nuanced forms of wax include:

  • Budder
  • Batter
  • Sugar
  • Crumble

Wax, usually consumed in dabbed form, can also be added to bowls, joints, or blunts to increase their potency.

How Is Wax Made?

Wax is a subtype of butane hash oil (BHO), as it’s made through solvent extraction. BHO is an extraction of cannabis made using butane as a solvent.

These extractions are concentrated forms of cannabis, containing only the resin from the trichomes and not the plant material. Thus, we have cannabis concentrates.

The extraction process begins with the trichomes, the resinous glands of the cannabis plant that contain cannabinoids, such as THC, CBD, and terpenes.

To make weed wax, the buds are packed into tubes and then blasted with butane. Exposure to butane separates the cannabis resin from unwanted plant materials.

After the initial extraction, the excess butane must evaporate from the concentrate. Therefore, the concentrate is spread out on a baking tray and “purged” in a vacuum oven at low temperatures.

The result is a sticky cannabis concentrate that will cool, harden, and be scraped into storage containers.

Different Types Of Dabs

There are various types of concentrates, and each one has special characteristics that make them unique.

Shatter: Shatter is a hard concentrate, and with time it develops a glossy crystal-like texture. Perfect shatter is flat, solid, and almost transparent. Lower grades of shatter can be yellow or even amber, although the darker color has little impact on potency.

Crystalline: Crystalline consists of extremely pure cannabinoid crystals, often sold as a single chunk, which can then be broken down. It can also be sold in its decomposed powder form, which is white and extremely dense. Crystalline is expensive but is prized for its purity.

Pull ‘n’ Snap: Pull ‘n’ snap is a shiny, flat concentrate with a smooth, taffy-like texture. It often resembles shatter but has a more flexible consistency.

Budder/Batter/Badder: This type of wax has the consistency of cake batter – thick and sticky but slightly runny. It is usually golden or blond in color and is easy to handle. Budder has a reputation for being the cleanest concentrate available, as well as one of the most potent. On average, you can expect 90% THC and 99% purity.

Sugar: Sugar, or sugar wax, has the consistency of wet sugar that has not been dissolved. It is semi-crystalline and is slightly looser and wetter than sugar.

Crumble: Crumble is a loose, dry extract that crumbles easily when handled. It is usually yellow in color, although it’s not uncommon to find dark wax as well. Because it breaks down so easily, it’s more difficult to handle.

Honeycomb: Honeycomb is a type of wax similar to crumble. The main aspect that makes honeycomb unique is its porous, cavity-filled appearance. When touched with a dab tool, it usually falls apart in the same manner as crumble.

Live Resin: Live resin is made from cannabis plants that are frozen at the time of harvest and kept frozen throughout the extraction process. This process retains more terpenes and leads to more fragrant and flavorful dabs.

Diamonds: Diamonds are made primarily from a cannabis compound, such as THCA or CBD, and are of such a high degree of purity that they form a crystalline, diamond-like solid.

Sauce: Sauce, or terp sauce, is a sticky solution of cannabinoids and terpenes known to be very tasty. It often contains some diamonds and can appear slightly grainy.

Rosin: Cannabis buds are pressed between a set of hot metal plates, which are subjected to extreme pressure. This extracts the oil, which cools and turns into a sticky resin. In addition to dabbing, rosin is also used in high-potency vape cartridges.

Dry Hash: Dry-Sift Hash is made by physically shaking and sieving the dry herb and selecting only the finest particles. These will be powdered trichomes, along with some fine pieces of plant matter. This is kief.

Bubble Hash: Bubble Hash is a higher grade of hash than dry-sifted hash. Cannabis buds are placed in an ice water bath and allowed to cool. After a few minutes, the bath is shaken, which breaks up the frozen trichomes, leaving the plant material almost intact. The water is then filtered through several mesh bags to remove any remaining plant matter.

Effects Of Dabbing

The biggest advantage of dabbing is cleaner and stronger effects compared to a joint or a vaporizer.

Some of the main effects of dabbing are the immediate sensations that take over the body. However, it all depends on what you’re using. Although the euphoria and elevated mood are almost transversal to all experiences, dabs are mostly known for generating a strong mental buzz and a physical high throughout the body.

Benefits Of Dabbing

Dabbing is a method of consumption that should be used with caution, but when done responsibly can have many benefits.

  • Potency: Dabbing is superior in terms of potency and intense effects.
  • Flavor: Because of the concentrates used and the fact that most are packed with terpenes, the dabbing experience is full of flavor and aroma.
  • Clean: Extracts that have been made correctly can also be cleaner, purer, and easier on the lungs.
  • Fast: The effects of dabbing appear fast and are long-lasting.

Additionally, since the effects are felt so quickly, that means immediate relief for different ailments such as chronic pain, insomnia, appetite problems, anxiety, depression, etc.

The Best Wax Dabs On The Market

You must consider several things when understanding which are the best dab waxes on the market.

1. The product comes from a recognized company or brand with responsible manufacturing practices with consumers. You don’t want to put any harmful stuff in your system, do you?

2. The type of high you prefer, whether it’s something more potent or a little milder. That way you can determine which concentrate is best and which brands have what you are looking for.

3. The method of wax production must also be taken into account. Make sure it’s reliable and verify that it’s tested by third-party labs. This will give you some certainty that you are using the best of the best.

4. Keep your budget in mind; some brands sell wax dabs as if they were gold with no real value for money.

5. Check the ingredients of the dab wax, what terpenes it has and what cannabinoids it contains. Also, if it has other important ingredients and in what concentrations.
