Benjamin Witte On Selling A Canned Feeling With Recess | Herb’s Highly Creative

A talk with the man behind Recess, a CBD seltzer company that is reimagining what cannabis beverages can be.

Benjamin Witte is a California-born entrepreneur and businessman. He is the founder and CEO of Recess, a New York-based CBD beverage company. It was in 2017 when Ben tried CBD and saw how it reduced his stress and calmed him. He saw the potential and wanted to create a business around it. A year later, he launched Recess: hemp-infused, fruit-flavored, canned sparkling water. Today, Recess serves more than 4,000 accounts nationwide and ships to 46 of the United States’ 50 states. Ben’s journey with Recess has been featured in Yahoo Finance, Adweek, and Business Insider. The secret: Recess doesn’t sell a product; it sells a feeling. That’s why it is a leading brand in the cannabis-infused drink industry and wants to become, in Ben’s words, the Red Bull of CBD.

Recess is a CBD brand that rarely talks about CBD. Instead, Recess is about a feeling, the feeling of calm and tranquility. And they transmit that with everything they do. Recess is now a wellness movement that creates products and experiences that help people feel centered and inspired, making them feel more productive and creative. The calming hemp extract found in Recess helps people feel balanced and clear-headed, transporting them to a place without the worries and anxieties of modern times. This episode features an insightful conversation with the man that created and designed the brand that is building its own category and aiming high in the cannabis industry.
