As a child, Jim Higdon’s classmate’s parents in Kentucky started getting arrested for being a part of an organized marijuana growers syndicate known as ‘The Cornbread Mafia.’ This happened between 1985 and 1989.
Today, he feels like this is a story worth telling and one that Americans need to know about; who it happened to, why, and how.
This is why he wrote the first non-fiction account of The Cornbread Mafia as soon as he got back from school. This propelled Jim to country-wide recognition.
With the story of Kentucky cannabis fresh in his mind, Jim and his cousin Eric stumbled upon a need in the CBD industry. So they decided to start Cornbread Hemp, a legal hemp company that merges both of their talents.
Jim’s knowledge of cannabis, its past in Kentucky, and his ties to the farmers in the State were the perfect fit to pair with Eric’s knowledge of customer service, e-commerce, and overall business management.
The cousins believe that Kentucky is the best place in the country to grow hemp. But they also saw an opportunity to market a brand in an industry that, at the time, was filled with bad actors, making harmful products that were giving the industry a bad reputation.
Cornbread Hemp soon became the first company in Kentucky to offer USDA-certified, organic CBD products. They use only flower in their extraction process and use only organic sugarcane ethanol to do so. The final oil product is made by only blending this high-end extraction with organic medium-chain coconut oil.
Not taking shortcuts and bringing you a hemp product in its most wholesome form are the hallmarks that define Cornbread Hemp as a company.
Their Full Spectrum CBD Gummies come in jars of 300 and 1,500 mg of CBD per pack. Including up to 50 mg of CBD and 2 mg of THC per serving with absolutely no high fructose corn syrup, gelatin, or artificial coloring.
A balanced formula that complies with federal law.
These organic berry gummies are not only delicious but also vegan-friendly, gluten-free, and made solely from Kentucky-grown hemp.
