With a few stoner pro tips, you can make your weed last longer. If you’d prefer to have a little weed every day rather than the same old feast-and-famine cycle with which so many of us are familiar, there are some easy and effective ways to make that happen. Let’s face it, the only downside to smoking weed is the stress it puts on your bank account.
Here are a few hacks that work for us in making that cannabis stash last longer from paycheck to paycheck.
The best-kept secret in the cannabis industry is that adding CBG to your high can make it more powerful and last longer. This is because it acts as a multiplier, heightening and complimenting the effects of THC and CBD. Not only will this improve your high but it will also make your weed last much longer.
CBG is one of the most important compounds in cannabis. It is called the “mother cannabinoid” because all cannabis plants produce CBG which then transforms into other cannabinoids such as THC and CBD. In fact, CBG combines properties of both, delivering a calming yet invigorating high.
A high CBG bud that will stun you is our limited-edition Sour G. This sativa is rich in cannabinoids and terpenes and it’s the best flower to blend into your regular THC or CBD bud. Besides, it’s legal in all 50 states so you can order it online and get it delivered to your doorstep!
No matter how icky they taste, there always comes a time when you’re willing to smoke them. Keep an air-tight Mason Jar around and start dropping your roaches, stems, and mini leftover pieces of bud in there. You’ll be glad to have that roach-bowl when there’s nothing else to smoke.
Make sure to keep it in a dry and dark space to prolong your weed’s smokability. Add a Boveda pack in there for extra humidity control.
Bongs are undoubtedly one of the best ways to conserve your weed. Unlike a joint, which is constantly burning and leads to a lot of wasted cannabis flower, a bong allows you to consume all of the smoke that is produced from your burning cannabis. And the amount of cannabis that’s used to create one joint could be used to smoke multiple bong hits.
If you’ve ever used a bong, you’ve probably already noticed that they pack a punch in comparison to joints and pipes. The amount of cannabis you would roll into even a small-sized joint is probably the equivalent to the amount of cannabis you would need to take about five bong hits. Therefore, smoking your cannabis in a bong is an easy way to conserve weed.
Here’s one of our favorite bongs out there, a classy look and smooth hits.
While it’s counterintuitive, because of the amount of weed required, making cannabis-infused edibles such as brownies or cookies from your stash can result in a high of much longer duration. Whereas smoking highs typically last an hour or two, edibles can stick around for three or four hours or even longer.
Just shove flowers or dabs into each “day.” If it helps, think of it as rationing, or as a “weed diet.” If you stick to it, your stash will last longer, and your tolerance may even drop, resulting in better highs.
If you smoke out of a bong or pipe, lighting up with hemp wick doesn’t just prevent the inhalation of butane fumes. It also burns at a lower temperature than a lighter, meaning the weed itself burns slower. If you want to make your weed last longer, then don’t char it with a lighter when you smoke bongs.
Lighting up the entire bowl at once burns through the weed a lot faster. Igniting just a corner means you’re wise enough to realize burning a bowl isn’t a race… it’s a scenic drive. It’s easy to fall into the habit of smoking canon-sized joints or massive bowls, but you might be surprised by how little weed can get you high.
While pinner joints or mini bowls aren’t as photo-worthy, they might do the trick and help to decrease your tolerance over time. Here’s a mini pipe from Eyce that’ll help you smoke less while being also a great alternative for on-the-go highs.
A 2014 study of 100 subjects found that vaping cannabis produced more noticeable effects with less weed. They also reported that it heightened flavors. It has also been found that vaping significantly reduces expired carbon monoxide and is easier on bronchial pathways.
If you use a grinder designed to collect the kief which naturally falls from cannabis flowers during grinding, you’ll have a nice bowl or three of delicious, potent, powdery trichomes full of THC after grinding just a few bowls’ worth.
The key to becoming an economical stoner and making your weed last longer is by being proactive. While these grinders require an upfront investment, they will save you a ton of money long term.
The absolute best grinder for this is the Aerospaced Toothless Grinder. This designed device not only produces loads of kief, but it also slices through your bud instead of grinding it, making it fluffier, trichome-covered, and hence, stronger.
While it’s almost certain you’ll take several hits, you’ll still use less weed, because you only have to commit to one toke at the time, rather than an entire bowl or joint. Being conscious of your consumption by including this step is sure to make your weed last longer.
Here’s a top-shelf one-hitter that’ll help you keep control of your intake while still delivering superior smoke.
“Pinners” are simply small, thin joints. While it feels good to roll something long and packed with cannabis, and definitely makes for a more enjoyable smoking experience, it’s also extremely wasteful.
In fact, smoking big joints is probably one of the most wasteful ways to consume cannabis. The alternative is to roll extremely small and thin joints.
You may find that you get just as high since a lot of the cannabis that you pack into bigger joints turns into ash at the end of your joint and isn’t consumed anyways. And if your pinner doesn’t get you sufficiently high, just smoke another one!
If you prefer joints to pipes or bongs, but don’t want to smoke a whole joint to yourself, try using the long filter technique. This is a method of rolling a pinner (see above) where about half of the joint paper is occupied by the filter, and the other half with cannabis.
It’s kind of like a one-hitter, except instead of smoking it out of a pipe-like contraption, it’s crafted out of rolling papers.
Simply roll a filter that’s about an inch or inch-and-a-half long, so that it takes up roughly half of the length of your rolling paper (if you’re using standard-sized papers). Then, fill the rest of the paper with cannabis and roll it like normal.
You’ll end up with a joint where you’ll only be able to smoke a few quick hits. But in our experience, you don’t always need more than that—especially if it’s your first time smoking that day.
While it can be fun to wake-and-bake, it can lead to more frequent cannabis use throughout the day. Have you ever noticed that you get significantly higher the first time you smoke in a day? Your tolerance increases each new time you smoke in a day, which means you will need to smoke larger and larger quantities each time.
If you’re looking to conserve cannabis, as obvious as this sounds, sometimes the most effective method is to reduce how frequently you smoke. Try to use cannabis as a reward at the end of your day, the same way that someone might have a beer with dinner after work. You’ll find yourself saving a considerable amount of bud.
Pay attention to the lab potency-testing numbers. Budget bud often has just as much THC as the top-shelf stuff. Pay more attention to cannabinoids than cosmetics. Often, the only difference is that bargain weed isn’t quite as pretty.
But who cares if the product has a rougher trim or has popcorn buds if it still gets you just as high. Don’t fall victim to pretty packaging.
