Vessel Vape Pen Battery Review: Stylish, Premium Feel Vaporizers Made To Last

In a world where vape pens seem to fall apart after a couple month’s use, Vessel wants to deliver something you can get attached to in the long term.

A quick look through Vessel’s website reveals much about their intentions: they want to be the craftsmen behind a higher quality smoking experience, and they want to surprise you, the customer, with something that goes beyond the expectations set by other vape pen manufacturers.

Founded in 2018, the company continues to ride the wave of positive reviews garnered by their initial product line-up by improving upon their original designs and offering a wider range of variants that cater specifically to each consumer.

Vessel vape pens come in a variety of styles adapted to specific use cases, but the specs and technology that makes the brand special stays the same throughout all their offerings.

Made to fit 510 threaded cartridges, this line of pens has two major draws in functionality: their outstanding battery life and the unmatched smoothness of its draw.

The combination of looks and works is what will continue to set Vessel’s battery apart from those of the competitors, and it will be reflected in their price tag, retailing for a higher price than average.

Design

With an exclusive machined metal finish, this particular model comes in blue and black and features Vessel’s sleek design language, this time optimized for durability. Owing to its anodized aluminum construction and 4.3” length, this pen has some heft to it, which adds to the premium feel.

The knurled knobs will allow you to get a good grip on it while you smoke. The magnetic USB charging port should keep it safe while it’s plugged in, although you must know it uses a proprietary design. This combination of design elements makes the Expedition the ideal choice for those with a preference for ruggedness and mechanical simplicity.

Features

The Expedition includes Vessel’s protected cartridge drop-in design, which should fit most 510 threaded cartridges, excelling with the use of CCell cartridges. Being powered by a 300mAh lithium-ion rechargeable battery core, this pen, like others made by Vessel, stands out for its battery life: from 1 to 2 weeks on a single charge.

Three LED lights will help you keep track of battery life as well as the voltage settings, of which there are 4 to choose from: 2.4V, 2.8V, 3.2V, 3.6V.

How To Use

Click on that main power button five times to turn the pen on (remember to remove and discard the plastic demonstration cartridge beforehand!). Then, select the desired voltage by clicking it again three times to cycle through them, this will determine the strength behind each hit.

Insert the cartridge carefully and give it a half-turn clockwise to lock it in place. Now you’re ready to vape! Inhale smoothly as you press the power button and enjoy. You do not need to pre-heat or prime this pen before you smoke.

Vessel Compass Review: Portable & Compact

Design

Vessel’s challenge with the Compass was to condense their satisfying airflow systems and outstanding battery life in a tight, compact package. As with their other offerings, the feel of this battery cannot be described as anything other than premium: the large power button, the weight of it as it rests in your palm, and the smooth gunmetal or white finish all add to the experience.

The whole thing weighs in at around 80 grams with the cartridge installed and measures a measly 2.6” in length with a thickness of only 0.75”, making it fit snugly in your pockets. The Compass also features a magnetic charging port, this time with a USB-C connection. The cherry on top is the swivel mouthpiece, which allows you to adjust the cartridge at any angle you prefer.

The Compass features Vessel’s protected cartridge drop-in system, which again is made to fit most 510 threaded cartridges. For this model, Vessel jacked up the battery capacity, the 550mAh lithium-ion rechargeable battery core is the largest in their catalog, allowing for around two weeks of vaping on a single charge.

You also get LED indicators to signal battery life and voltage settings. Once again, there are 4 voltage options to choose from: 2.4V, 2.8V, 3.2V, 3.6V.

How To Use

The Compass is operated in a very similar fashion to other Vessel batteries, even with its unique form-factor. Press the power button five times to turn it on, insert the cartridge into the slot and carefully rotate it clockwise to lock it in place (be sure to not overdo it as it may become hard to remove after use), select the desired voltage by clicking on the button three times and you’re ready to go.

Remember to keep the pen clean to ensure it continues to work properly. Use a cotton swab and some rubbing alcohol to wipe the connection points, but only do it with the power turned completely off.

Vessel Craftsman Review: Sturdy, Wood Grained, Classy

Design

The Craftsman goes out to those who like to show their vape pen off, it wouldn’t look out of place next to an inkwell and a pocket watch. The anodized aluminum that made the Expedition feel so special is back, this time in tandem with a premium wood grain finish in your choice of walnut or blackwood. The materials are absolutely real, meaning that every piece will display a unique wood grain pattern.

Features

Aside from its wooden finish, the Craftsman sticks to what Vessel does best, and delivers all the features you get as standard from the rest of their lineup: the protected cartridge-drop in made to fit most 510 threaded cartridges, a 300mAh lithium-ion rechargeable battery core, 4 voltage settings ranging from 2.4V to 3.6V, LED lights to indicate charge and voltage settings and a proprietary magnetic charging cable.

As with other Vessel offerings, the Craftsman will surprise you with the quality airflow and the smoothness behind every pull, you will barely need to make an effort in order to get a satisfying drag of vapor.

How To Use

No surprises here as Vessel really keeps the operating procedures simple across all their batteries. After you lock in your cartridge by inserting it into the drop-in and turning it clockwise it will all hinge on the power button: click it five times to turn on or off, click it three times to cycle through the voltage settings, and keep it held as you drag.

As with all other Vessel products, make sure you only charge this one with the provided charging cable, as otherwise it may not work. As an additional tip, only charge it once the LED begins to flash in order to maximize the battery’s lifespan.

Vessel Vista Review: A Colorful Option With A Friendlier Price Tag

Design

For the straight-forward, but still discerning vaper, Vessel has the Vista, a baseline offering that takes their signature look and feel and puts it into a package that should suit just about anyone. The matte plastic construction still feels finely crafted and comes in your choice of seven colors: Black, crimson, seafoam, olive, electric blue, aubergine and coral.

The Vista is 4,7” long and weighs only 45 grams with a cartridge loaded, it is a superb design that fits the bill for what you would expect in a premium vape pen.

Features

In this, the most recent iteration of the Vista, the battery capacity has been upgraded to 320mAh, matching that offered by the Expedition, which should last you around a week and a half on a single charge, depending on your smoking habits.

The same cartridge drop-in system as other Vessel products should ensure that your 510 threaded cartridges get a secure fit, and an indent in the drop-in will allow you to see exactly how much oil remains.

As is standard with Vessel, the Vista offers 4 voltage settings ranging from 2.4V to 3.6V, 3 LED indicators to help monitor charge and voltage, and a magnetic charging port that uses a proprietary design (as seen in the Expedition).

How To Use

Just as other Vessel batteries, operating this one is deceptively simple. Adjust the cartridge by giving it a careful clockwise turn, press the power button five times to boot it up, press it three additional times to cycle through the voltage settings, and hold it as you enjoy a smooth drag.
