With these durable pipes, you’ll never have to worry about dropping your favorite piece again.
One clumsy moment can lead to what feels like a lifetime of regret. While glass has many things going for it, when it comes to pipes, there’s a whole world of durable bongs that will keep you smoking for the better part of the next century. Even if you have a primo glass piece or a glass collection, it’s always wise to hedge your bets by also having one or more unbreakable pipes and durable designs. They come in handy when that one notoriously clumsy or careless friend comes over to smoke.
One of the most popular options for durable pipes is silicone. Then there are the traditional standbys, metal, and wood.
Let’s look at the 10 most durable bongs and pipes that will withstand just about anything:
The KØL pipe is the true, unbreakable pipe. It is made out of premium quality anodized recyclable aluminum, and it features a titanium coated stainless steel filter and rare-earth magnets that stick its two pieces together. With the KØL, you will never again have to worry about dropping, scratching, or breaking your pipe. Instead, you’ll be getting a pipe for life. That’s right, the KØL is built to last; it even comes with a lifetime warranty that ensures it. Not only is the KØL completely unbreakable, it also features a stylish design that is beautiful, highly functional, and effective. Inspired by the shape of the scales of the Mako Shark, the KØL’s shape creates an inner vortex that cools down your smoke and traps any impurities. The result is a super smooth and tasty hit that reduces harm to your lungs. To clean it, snap its pieces apart and drop them in boiling water or use alcohol wipes. Either way, it’s going to come out looking like a brand new pipe every time. All-in-all, the KØL is where forward design meets premium materials to create the most durable, efficient, and easy to use pipe on the market. Get the KØL for $100 or the KØL Mini for $80.
At least one spoon pipe should be a part of every serious smoker’s arsenal, and The Eyce Spoon takes it to the next level. It’s the best of both worlds, with an inlaid borosilicate glass bowl and a silicone body. You wouldn’t want to beat on these durable pipes with a hammer, but just dropping them on the floor will almost never result in damage.
A not only incredibly beautiful design that combines a rustic looking stonework that merges psychedelic colors into its prominently heavy body. But also has a mouthpiece made from local hardwood. The mouthpiece is also lined with brass that makes for easy cleaning and heat dissipation. Although ceramic might not make for the most durable style of head, the sheer mass density of it on this piece makes that idea flip upside-down.
This piece’s slender long shape might not scream “durability” at you at first glance, but it’s solid tubing structure makes it so you won’t have to worry as much with another pipe with the same design. The fact is that this Middle Earth inspired artists favorite is not the most durable on the list, but it does make for pretty decent toughness if we take it’s shape into account. The 25mm from mouth to bowl also make for a reduced-heat smoke and a smooth-feeling pull.
The Promethus’ design is engineered to fuse the benefits of a premium glass pipe with the durability of aircraft-grade aluminum. The Pocket construction delivers a glass smoking experience in a portable and easy-to-clean system. It’s also versatile; it comes with three compatible Pyptek concentrate kits. The bowl is made of borosilicate glass and it’s surrounded by an exoskeleton of anodized aircraft-grade aluminum. The Prometheus Pocket Pipe retails for $84.99.
Granted this pink piece of psychedelia does not seem the most durable against a two foot drop, what makes it feature on the list is the fact that you won’t be needing to juggle with it that much. The Pink Elephant in the room can sit on it’s own four legs and fits easily into your pocket, making it easier to grip and hold when you smoke. Hence a reduced risk of actually dropping the thing and the smaller size also makes glass harder to shatter.
The steam roller comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. This one actually takes me back to an improvised trip around South East Asia, where I had the brilliant idea to accept an offered pull from a guy holding a long-ass bamboo pipe sitting in a corner of Hanoi, Vietnam. The pull didn’t do much, but the story is relevant because I actually dropped the thing and nothing happened. I looked at the guy with a “Puss in Boots from Shrek face”, to which he signaled “relax” and picked it up for another pull. This is what bamboo does for you, and this is what this Futo’s take on it will do as well.
Not a lot of breaking being done with wood. Magic Light’s contraption is a small, fit-in-your-pocket device with a more than adequately sized bowl compartment. It’s not only an excellent alternative for an on-the-go session due to it’s size, but also a hard to break piece of equipment even if you were actively trying to take it apart.
Just like wood, titanium doesn’t turn to shatter easily unless you’re an X-Men with Adamantium claws sticking out of your knuckles, yes, that’s a Wolverine reference (I know, geeky…). Now that I got that off my chest, this piece is manufactured with titanium and then enveloped in high-grade aluminum that acts as a heat sink to avoid clumsy fingers getting burned. The futuristic design also makes this a cool pipe to look at and the size makes it an easy one to carry around.
Once again a metal pipe that makes it onto the list, but that’s not a surprise. Budbomb’s design is shaped in a cylindrical almost bullet-like shape that gives off an “impenetrable” vibe. The size of this piece makes it easy to carry around in your pocket, it comes in three different finishes (silver, gold, and gunmetal black), and the sturdy design looks like something that even a Pitbull would have trouble chewing on.
