How To Use The GRAV Gravitron Bong: A Complete Review

Is this the best gravity bong ever made?

Gravity is inevitable, and it’s all around us; impossible to avoid but always present. How about, for a change, we use it in our favor?

These things are called “gravity bongs,” which sound more futuristic than they actually are. They combine the best aspects of water bongs mixed with science, so gravity itself moves the smoke, and you don’t have to take a long, cough-inducing drag.

They are a spectacle for the eyes and body, and what better way to start on these contraptions than buying the newly remodeled style from one of the best glass working brands for stoners: the Gravitron by GRAV

About GRAV

GRAV is a Texan brand that focuses on high-quality, thick glass products for your cannabis enjoyment.

They make unique designs that stand out in an already saturated market, so they have plenty of pieces that can catch your eye.

GRAV has made it its mission to guarantee buyers an authentic experience with their pieces, from the bongs, pipes, and other glassworks to the actual packaging they come in.

Why Choose GRAV?

If the beauty and quality of GRAV products don’t convince you enough, then maybe the fact that the Gravitron is quite possibly one of the most excellent bongs out there: it works with water, and gravity, to pull the smoke from the bowl.

Sounds a bit obvious, right? Since gravity is everywhere, however, when people used to build their own from plastic bottles and make almost disposable bongs, GRAV came along and created their durable one.

Think of this brand as an art dealer that offers unique pieces with both beauty and functionality in its pocket.

They pay much attention to making their stuff with only the highest quality materials and handiwork. Its characteristic pieces like the Gravitron surpass the expectations of stoners looking for a complete experience when getting high.

Hell, it goes beyond that: it becomes a 360º experience with both visual stimulation, as well as the effects of the psychoactive; add good company with great conversations, and you now have the perfect tool to liven any social gathering.

Features

This version of the Gravitron is revamped, thanks to its newly incorporated thickness to the glass structure and the upgraded platinum cured silicone grommet.

It has a 19 mm female joint, which can now be paired with its 19 mm male funnel bowl. The flange at the top of the neck gives you an easier and better grip, letting you focus on the smoke more than the risk of breaking any piece.

It has a total height of 11 inches, but there is a smaller size if you’re interested in it.

Design

The design is minimalistic, sleek, and elegant: made up of completely clear glass, all detailings come in black, so this piece won’t be too flashy or clash with any colors in your home.

The outside cylinder leaves about an inch or less of space between the center, shaped like a bottle of tequila (well, or other liquors, we’re just thirsty for a shot).

It’s easy to clean, too, so you won’t have to worry about disarming a complex bomb-like machine when it comes to the upkeep of the Gravitron between uses.

How To Use

Gravity bongs are slightly spicier than regular ones because they force the concentrated smoke right into your lungs; it beckons a more direct journey from the bong to your system.

They’re not recommended for newbies, though, since the stronger concentrate of cannabis or any other herbs you might be smoking can cause a high that might overwhelm those who barely, or not at all, know what THC is in your body feels like.

You can start using the Gravitron by filling the base halfway with water (up to where the logo is) and adding the dried and ground herbs to the bowl.

Insert it into the joint at the neck of the bottle and then grab your lighter to hit the bowl but remember to lift the bottle simultaneously for it to work!

Once the bottle is full of smoke, remove the bowl and place your mouth over the neck, inhaling as you lower the bottle. The lack of percolator will give you a more direct hit of the smoke, with no loss in amount or concentration.

How To Clean

Like any other glass bong, you have to be careful when cleaning it: one, for the material and two, because whatever sponges or cloths you use might retain some resin and smell even after you’ve washed them, so don’t go mixing the regular dish sponge with the one for the bong.

Remember to throw away the ashes in the trash and carefully separate each piece before hand washing each one of them.

If you want to go a step further to preserve the Gravitron, you might also consider throwing each piece in a container filled with isopropyl alcohol (after you’ve washed them with warm water and dish soap).

Let it dry completely before re-assembling like The Avengers and putting back in its cabinet. However, we think that leaving such a marvelous piece inside a cabinet and not on display is a crime against stoner culture and art itself.

Pros

The pros stand by the fact that, when looking at water bongs, the Gravitron is less fuss and definitely more fun, both in the experience of using a gravity bong and the way it processes flowers and herbs into the smoke.

Again, the potency of it might be too much for novices, but it’s also a quick way to get a hit before leaving out the door, so it’s an excellent alternative to other bongs or water pipes that might be bulkier and harder to handle.

Also, since it’s the grown-up version of the DIY gravity gongs made from plastic, it adds no unknown or harmful chemicals to your products, so it’s safe to say that you’re getting the purest and, in a way, healthiest experience out of it.

Cons

In itself, the material is durable but can still be broken if mishandled, and it’s not as easy to replace a glass container or bottle as it would be a plastic one.

Whether you choose the medium or large sizes of this bong, it can be a bit much if you don’t have the counter space to keep it within eyesight in your home, but putting it away takes up room as well.

You have to be careful with taking it out and setting it back in its place.

And, of course, it wouldn’t be a cannabis-based review if we didn’t mention that although the piece isn’t as evident for smoking pot as other bongs or pipes, the scent will always tell on you.

If that concerns you, the people you live with, have, then this might not be the most unsuspicious way of smoking.

Conclusion

The Gravitron by GRAV is an investment, but a good one if you put it to good use. Think of the cost and look of the piece and how many other things you have around that cost the same or more, but don’t give you the final bit of experience you need: the high.

Think of how many people you can have over, and once they see it and ask what it is, then you can truly put on a show that’ll wow those that have never seen a gravity bong before, as well as those with a bit more experience in the weed community.

Regardless of whether you’re adding a piece to an existing collection or starting from scratch and deciding to upgrade from ugly handmade devices that are neither stylish nor safe, this bong is nothing but the cherry on top of your purchase of cannabis products add a new level to your high.
